About Leigh
Leigh Blanche Flechsig Ustick, OTR/L, CAPS- Leigh grew up in Bloomfield Hills, MI and began her career working at Inspired Wellness, a holistic wellness center in Birmingham, as the desk help on Saturdays when she was 16 years old. Leigh worked at Inspired Wellness through college over summer vacations and on breaks. She attended Miami University in Ohio and received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Leigh went on to Rush University in Chicago to receive her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy, focusing on geriatrics and neurological disorders. In 2009, Leigh underwent a year-long study of Polestar Pilates mentored by Kelly Hale and Barbara Hayes resulting in her first Pilates certification. Leigh has since gained many more Pilates certifications including the Pilates Method Alliance, Pilates for Pre/Post Natal, Pilates for Menopause, and looks forward to continued ongoing education.
After graduate school, Leigh continued to work at Inspired Wellness both as a fitness practitioner and occupational therapist. She also worked in a traditional inpatient therapy setting for two years. Leigh and her father, Peer Flechsig, also team together as occupational therapist and contractor to perform home modifications for older adults and people with disabilities through Peerless Improvements.
In June of 2014, Leigh opened Farmhouse Pilates and Rehabilitation where she is able to provide Pilates based occupational therapy and fitness sessions from the setting of her historic farmhouse home.
